Sermon: “Good Friday”

Christ’s Words from the Cross

Hymn: “Were You There”

Verse 1

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh, sometimes, it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Verse 2

Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh, sometimes, it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?

Verse 3

Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Oh, sometimes, it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?

Lord’s Prayer

Traditionally on Good Friday, the Lord’s Prayer is said in a whisper.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power,
And the Glory, forever and ever. Amen.

We did not ask for an offering in the middle of the service, because we were focused on Christ’s offering of His life for us. You are welcome to give an offering by clicking the “GIVE” button. Thank you.

Thank you for participating in worship. Additionally, if you would like, in place of our normal Good Friday Walkaround service, we have a Good Friday Walkaround “At Home” for you to do with your families. Most of it can be done with items you already have at your house. Feel free to do this with your family as much as you like – we hope that it can be a valuable resource for you.
