SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS: George L. Schaefer Scholarships are available to those high school seniors who are attending college this fall. Applications have been mailed to all our high school seniors. If you have not received one please contact the church office. All St. James Lutheran Church members who are high school graduates going off to college this fall will receive Schaefer Scholarship monetary recognition, and if you are in any year of study for full time church work (such as a pastor or Concordia Accredited Christian Day School worker), please contact the church office for the M. Arthur Speidel Scholarship application available to members of St. James Lutheran Church studying for church work. THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT SCHOLARSHIP FORM IS MAY 31^st. Pants and Sweat Shirts for Women & Children Rape victims at Stony Brook Hospital.  (also light weight items for warmer weather) Mite Boxes-Place your loose change in mite boxes to support LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) ministries to local churches and chaplaincy programs. Stamp Collections-cut out and leave ¼ inch space around stamps on your incoming mail to help pay for deaf interpreters for the annual LWML conventions. Soda Pop Tops Collection-Help pay for children on dialysis to attend summer camps. Smithtown Emergency Food Pantry-Weekly collection to help feed the local hungry.
